It All Started With a Sketch
Before Nexarina had prototypes, technical fabrics or finished outerwear, it was an idea drawn on paper.
Men's. Kids. Adjusting. If you didn't fit the so-called "standard", you were stuck making it work.
I didn't want gear that was simply made smaller or made prettier. I wanted performance. I wanted women's snowboard outerwear that actually fit.
So I picked up a pen and started sketching. Not because I knew how to start an outerwear brand, but because I was done waiting for someone else to fix the problem.
The First VersionThe sketches weren't pretty. But they were the start of everything.
The first lines were rough.
But the idea was clear: women shouldn't have to compromise between technical performance and outerwear designed around their bodies.
The principles were there from the beginning.
The sketches changed. These ideas didn't.
Technical protection and movement had to come before decoration.
Fit couldn't be built around one assumed version of a woman's body.
Women shouldn't have to choose between fit, function and serious outerwear.
A sketch was only the first step.
Turning an idea into technical outerwear meant prototypes, fit tests, mistakes, revisions and starting over when something didn't work.
Some versions simply didn't work.
Early samples exposed the same problems Nexarina was trying to solve: proportions were off, fit needed refining and certain ideas had to be rebuilt completely.
Every measurement mattered.
Sleeve length, rise, shaping and movement were tested and adjusted again and again. Small changes could completely change how a garment felt on the body.
Then came version after version.
Each prototype answered one question and created another. The process wasn't linear, but every revision brought the product closer to what women actually needed on the mountain.
From rough sketch to a finished system.
What started on paper eventually became technical outerwear shaped through years of development, fit testing and refinement.
That first rough sketch became a technical outerwear system built around the same problem that started Nexarina in the first place: women deserve snow gear designed around them.
