Pack once and ride all day. Every pick here is tested for warmth, fit, and comfort.
We have all been there: soaked, freezing, and fighting layers that do not fit. This guide makes packing simple. Follow the lists, skim the tips, and show up ready from first chair to last.
1. Base layers are your first line of defense
Stay dry and regulate heatYour first layer controls sweat and heat. Skip cotton. Choose merino or technical synthetics.

-
Thermal top and bottom:
- Budget set. Easy and fine for short trips.
- Smartwool bottoms and top. Warm, soft, and less smell after long days.
- Sports bra: that feels good all day.
- Snowboard socks: One pair for the hill and a dry backup in your pocket on wet days.
Sizing tip: socks should hug the foot without bunching. If your toes feel cramped, the sock is too thick for your boot.
2. Accessories that matter
Warmth, safety, visibilitySmall things with a big impact. These keep you warm, safe, and ready for changing light.

-
Neck warmer or balaclava: Blocks wind and adds instant warmth.
- Try BUFF or this balaclava (my personal fave).
- Goggles: Swap to low light lenses on flat days.
-
Gloves or mittens: If your hands run cold, go mitts.
- Shop Rumor Boardshop.
3. Gear checklist
Fit first, then fine tuneTry boots first, match binding flex to your board, and pick a helmet you will keep on.

- Snowboard
- Fitted boots
- Bindings
- Helmet
- Optional: stomp pad, boot dryer, tuning tools
New to setup? Ask a shop to check stance width and angles. A small tweak can change your whole day.
4. Outerwear that works
Fit for your body and weatherStart with fit and weather. When those are right, the rest is easy.

Indy Snow Jacket
Serious waterproofing with a clean, tailored shape. Great for storm days and long chair rides.

Everette Bib Pant
Coverage that stays put. The drop seat makes breaks fast and easy.

Avani Snow Pant
Mobile, vented, and sleek. The everyday pant for mixed conditions.
5. Mid layers for ride days and chill moments
Warmth without bulkPick a light puffer for cold mornings and a breathable fleece when the sun is out.

- Lightweight puffer: Light, warm, and easy to pack.
- Fleece or grid hoodie: Breathes on the climb and stays warm on the lift.
- Sweatsuit: Perfect for the drive and clutch at lunch.
6. Après ride fit
Comfy layers for afterDry layers and simple comfort. Think hot tub, pizza, and a soft hoodie.

- Cozy joggers: Soft, high rise, and easy over base layers.
- Oversized hoodie: Warm and cozy for post ride.
- Beanie: Helmet hair essential.
- Swimsuit: For hot tubs after a good day of riding.
7. Personal must haves
Small items that save the dayMy small but mighty kit. These live in my bag all season.
- Lip Balm Blistex is my absolute fave
- Sunscreen: Supergoop SPF 50 is a solid option
- Water bottle: Hydro Flask water bottle
- Snacks: Trail mix, protein bars, and emergency chocolate
